Many Tongues

Words are not enough
for love-giving.

All talk of God
cannot harness
Spirit.

Many tongues are needed
to praise this One defying,
yet embracing,
our careless chatter,
our love of precision.

Tongues Spirit-breathed
amid faith's fires,

and those pauses

necessary for the sensing
of desire,

focussed,

bathed in a light
given,

truly sacred flames
for the warming.
