Colours I

Only so much colour
can be contained
within ecclesiastical borders.

In reality,
it spills out
everywhere
disregarding all margins,
all limits,
beyond every horizon
in the most brilliant
of designs.

As children of the Holocaust
would sketch a tree laden with ripe apples
or a family enjoying a picnic
bathed in sunshine,
give me eyes to see,
senses to savour,
Your riotous creation.<
