"Guidelines for Submission"

This forum provides a place for others to view your work. Your poetry, your prose, your style. No profanity, no porn, no tasteless material. This makes for a better place to share with your friends, don't you agree? In plain English: You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this site to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, sexually oriented, profane, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violates any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by the Online Writer.

What is acceptable? Preference is for material that can be displayed/contained within one to three (1 to 3) screen displays. Reason: the audience is visiting for a moment - and lengthy poems or stories will not (generally) keep a person glued to the terminal. True, your story can be printed directly - but this is not the 'norm' for viwers surfing the web. Limiting the size of your material is an attempt to provide a dependable and enjoyable experience; if you have a constructive argument as to why your material should be longer, please include your point of view when submitting your material.

Submissions are 'Open', or not restricted to subject matter. (See above regarding profanity, pornography, tasteless material.) There is no attempt here to exclude juveniles; in fact, you must consider that this forum is completely open: part of the criteria for determining acceptability relates to not posting anything which would offend the sensitivities of minors.

There is no compensation paid for material published here, other than the personal satisfaction received from having the opportunity to express oneself in a public forum. All rights of ownership remain with the author, and although material is on display such material is not available for copying or re-transcribing in any manner without express permission granted by the author. Copyright laws apply.

So - how to submit your material? Send it either by filling out the form , or by e-mail (attach your work, if this is easier for you than retyping). If it is decided to publish your work (and it is in the best interests of the Online Writer to do so) you will be notified. If a decision is made not to publish, you will know directly, by reply mail, with an explanation as to why your material is not being considered at this time.

Special Note

A Number of pieces included here happen to be 'Anonymous', not by intent but rather because of an inability to credit the real author. If you know the author, or are aware of the source for such material, please submit this information so that the author may receive the credit due them. But please be sure of your cite, since the only thing worse than not knowing an author is to give credit to the wrong source. Thank you!

Viewing

To see what is currently available, select material from the Table of Contents - then, if you try to print what you see, and this doesn't work, perhaps 'highlighting' a word or two, then try printing again, will work for you. If this still doesn't help, or you are experiencing problems with display and/or printing please leave a message and perhaps we can help.
